Job Purpose

Lead the strategic development and management of the SDNPA’s digital communications and engagement activities – including the SDNPA, SDNP Trust and SSCP – to support delivery of organisational objectives by growing usage and following of websites, digital and social media channels.

Develop digital communications to broaden SDNPA’s reach to new and underserved audiences to meet the “National Park for All” objectives.


Key Accountabilities

Develop and manage the SDNPA social media presence across all channels to grow current audiences and reach new ones.

Oversee commissioning and production of film resources and other content for digital channels.

Procure and manage delivery of website and intranet development services.

Independently moderate all social media channels to protect and manage SDNPA, SDNP Trust and SSCP reputation (including regular out-of-hours work).

Commission, source, produce and edit content to promote SDNPA and its partners, ensuring it is fresh, accurate, and compliant with statutory requirements.

Monitor and evaluate performance against objectives, identifying issues, opportunities, and solutions to ensure high-quality outcomes.

Develop and manage the intranet as a hub for internal communications, in line with the Communications and Engagement Strategy.

Ensure websites and digital channels meet accessibility standards and best practice.

Train and support colleagues to ensure capability, competence, and legal compliance in using/updating digital platforms.

Respond to web incidents effectively and in a timely manner.

Support procurement, maintenance, and upgrading of specialist hardware, software, and systems, ensuring correct usage and understanding.

Carry out any other duties as required by the SDNPA in line with the post’s grade.
