Role Description
Legacy Compass is a purpose-driven startup helping families and companies navigate the emotional, practical, and financial consequences of loss. We create workshops, tools, and stories that make it easier to talk about legacy, caregiving, and preparation — blending empathy, design, and storytelling.
We’re looking for a Communications & Brand Intern to support us in expanding our presence and impact through thoughtful communication. This is an opportunity to work closely with our founder and collaborators on meaningful projects that connect emotion, storytelling, and social innovation.
You’ll help us shape our message, communicate our story, and position Legacy Compass as a leading voice in end-of-life innovation and emotional design.
Responsibilities
What you’ll do:
- Create and adapt content to support our workshops, partnerships, and campaigns (with guidance).
- Use Canva to design visual content for social media and presentations.
- Support the translation and adaptation of materials originally created in Italian into English, using AI-based tools — ensuring language and tone fit the UK context.
- Help define and implement our brand positioning and communication strategy across digital channels.
- Manage and schedule posts, mainly on LinkedIn, and track engagement.
- Participate in regular check-ins with the founder to review progress, brainstorm ideas, and learn about startup operations.
Role Requirements
We’re looking for someone who:
- Is studying or recently graduated in communication, marketing, languages, design, or social innovation (or has equivalent experience).
- Has strong written and visual communication skills in English (Italian a plus).
- Is comfortable using Canva and LinkedIn, and open to learning other tools.
- Is curious, organised, and reliable, with a proactive attitude.
- Is interested in social impact, emotional design, storytelling, and innovation.
- Appreciates sensitive topics like legacy, caregiving, and loss — and can handle them with empathy and respect.
- Wants to gain hands-on experience in a startup environment and grow a professional network in the impact space.
The role can be performed on a flexible working hours.
What you’ll gain
- Hands-on startup experience in communications, branding, and content creation.
- Direct mentorship and guidance from the founder.
- A recommendation letter upon successful completion of the internship.
- Introductions to founders, investors, and programs in London and across Europe.
- The opportunity to build a portfolio and contribute to a mission-driven organisation tackling a universal challenge.
