Location: Cambridge, UK – Hybrid

Contract: Permanent

Hours: Full time (35 hours per week)

We are looking for a proactive, analytically minded Marketing Executive to join our CRM & Data team and play a key role in delivering high‑impact, customer‑first communications across our global email channel and be supporting adoption of best practice across the marketing platform.

We are Cambridge University Press & Assessment, a world-leading academic publisher and assessment organisation and a proud part of the University of Cambridge.

About the role

In this role, you'll primarily help develop, execute, and optimise multi‑market email programmes in HubSpot. You'll be excited about using AI and automation to level up efficiency and performance - driving engagement, supporting personalisation at scale, and ensuring excellence in compliance, data quality, and cross‑team collaboration.

Additional responsibilities and accountabilities include:

  • Build, schedule and localise email campaigns, partnering with content and regional teams to ensure smooth, consistent delivery.
  • Monitor performance (deliverability, engagement, conversions) and maintain an “air‑traffic‑control” view to keep operations running efficiently.
  • Analyse results, identify improvement opportunities and adjust campaigns to platform changes, audience behaviour and organisational needs.
  • Ensure compliance with global regulations (UK GDPR, PECR and local ePR) and evolving inbox requirements, including shifts driven by the MAGY group (Microsoft, Apple, Google, Yahoo).
  • Maintain accurate, engaged subscriber lists and translate legislation or industry changes into clear guidance for stakeholders.
  • Help develop and implement smart segmentation and personalisation strategies, championing programmable email and advanced HubSpot personalisation.
  • Work with our automation specialists to optimise automated workflows, enhancing efficiency, testing, reporting and content scalability.
  • Collaborate closely with Portfolio, Events, Regional, Operations and Digital teams, providing training and updates on new legislation, AI developments and platform capabilities.
  • Stay current with CRM, email, AI and automation trends, applying insights to strengthen the customer experience and overall strategy.

About You

What You'll Bring:

  • Experience delivering email campaigns in a marketing automation platform (HubSpot experience desirable).
  • Strong organisational and project‑management skills, with the ability to work confidently across multiple teams.
  • Comfort working with data, compliance and regulation, with strong attention to accuracy and detail.
  • A customer‑first approach, paired with solid analytical skills to drive continuous improvement.

Remember, your role as a Marketing Executive directly impacts brand awareness, customer engagement, and overall business success.

If you meet the above minimum requirements, we encourage you to apply. Your application will be even stronger if you can also demonstrate the following desirable criteria:

  • Working understanding of HTML and CSS.
  • Awareness of regulation which affects digital marketing (PECR, GDPR, EU AI Act, EEA)
