Project Description
The Scottish Mental Health Arts Festival (SMHAF) is looking for a Marketing & Communications Consultant to join our busy team for this year’s festival, which takes place from 20 October to 9 November 2025.
Responsibilities
- Compile and edit content for the SMHAF brochure.
- Write and edit content for the SMHAF website, newsletters, and marketing materials.
- Coordinate social media across Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
- Design digital and print assets using Adobe InDesign and Canva.
- Upload events and content to the SMHAF website.
- Liaise with suppliers including designers, printers, and distributors.
- Collaborate with the SMHAF team and partners to raise the festival’s profile.
- Draft press releases and respond to media enquiries.
- Represent SMHAF at events, including evenings and weekends during the festival.
- Provide flexible support to the wider festival team as needed.
Role Requirements
- Experience in a similar role, ideally within an arts or cultural festival.
- Strong writing, editing, and communication skills.
- Experience planning and delivering communications strategies.
- Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe InDesign and Canva.
- Ability to identify and engage target audiences.
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Understanding of mental health.
- Experience with digital advertising.
- Familiarity with website content management systems.
- A collaborative, proactive approach and willingness to adapt.
