About On the Go Tours

At On the Go Tours, we’re passionate about creating unforgettable travel experiences across 90+ destinations worldwide. As a fast-growing company selling multi-day travel experiences, we’re committed to helping curious travellers discover the world with ease, authenticity, and expertly planned itineraries.

We're now looking for a results-driven Head of SEO to take our organic search performance to the next level—driving global visibility, high-intent traffic, and direct bookings.

The Role

This is a senior leadership role for an experienced SEO strategist who knows how to turn search demand into profit. You’ll own the SEO roadmap end-to-end, with a particular focus on developing data-driven landing pages at scale, shaping our content strategy, and improving technical performance across our website.

You’ll work closely with product, development, and marketing teams to deliver measurable growth—alongside a long-term strategy to secure category leadership in travel search.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic SEO Ownership

  • Lead and execute a global SEO strategy aligned with traffic, ranking, and revenue targets.
  • Act as the senior voice of SEO across the business, educating stakeholders and shaping priorities.

Data-Driven Landing Page Growth

  • Build scalable landing page frameworks powered by data and automation (e.g. destinations, itineraries, travel themes).
  • Write clear and structured requirements for developers, ensuring SEO scalability is built into the CMS and codebase.
  • Identify opportunities for new page creation based on search demand, competition, and commercial goals.

Content & Experience Strategy

  • Build a long-term content strategy that positions On the Go Tours as the most trusted and useful resource for tour planning.
  • Define SEO content briefs and frameworks for writers, editors, and external agencies.
  • Oversee ongoing content optimisation: E-E-A-T, on-page improvements, internal linking, schema, etc.

Technical SEO & Site Performance

  • ·Work with developers to deliver improvements across crawlability, speed, Core Web Vitals, indexation, structured data, and international SEO.
  • Lead regular site audits and continuously improve site health across all devices and countries.

Measurement & Reporting

  • Build dashboards, forecasts, and performance reviews for leadership.
  • Own SEO reporting across rankings, traffic, conversions, and ROI.
  • Champion a test-and-learn approach using data, experimentation, and insight.

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of hands-on SEO experience, ideally in e-commerce, travel, marketplace, or multi-market sites
  • Experience working in-house responsible for strategy and execution
  • Proven success building programmatic or data-rich landing pages that drove traffic & bookings
  • Able to write detailed requirements and partner closely with developers
  • Strong experience leading content strategies, keyword frameworks, and page-level optimisation
  • A growth mindset: commercially driven, analytical, proactive, and experiment-oriented
  • Ability to turn large datasets into actionable strategies
  • Clear communicator who can influence senior teams and partner cross-functionally

Nice to Have

  • Experience with international SEO and hreflang
  • Travel or tourism industry experience
  • Experience in site migrations
  • Familiarity with AI-powered content workflows, schema automation, or CMS architecture
  • Basic knowledge of SQL, Python, or data visualisation tools

Why Join Us

  • Shape the SEO future of a global travel brand with huge runway for growth
  • Work with a collaborative team that values data, initiative, and fresh thinking
  • Access to real development resources—this is a build & scale role, not a maintenance role
  • Be part of a company where curiosity, culture, and adventure are part of everyday life

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary
  • Up to 1-2 days working remotely.
  • Opportunities for professional development and career growth.
  • Collaborative and supportive work environment.
  • Travel discounts and perks.
  • 25 days holiday
  • Employee Assistance Programme
