What’s the role?

As a Growth Marketer at Howbout, you'll take the lead on all things analytical and performance-driven marketing, including paid campaigns. You’ll work closely with our VP of Growth to leverage data to identify new opportunities, optimise our product and paid campaign performance, manage budget allocations, and contribute to growth marketing strategies.This role is primarily office-based, with four days a week in our Old Street office and one day working remotely. 

What will you be doing?

  • Develop, execute, report on and monitor paid media campaigns across our existing paid platforms (currently TikTok, Apple and Google UAC) including running tests and optimising strategies driven by business goals.
  • Ideate and experiment with other paid platforms we don't currently use, but where our audience lives
  • Leverage data-driven insights to optimise user communication, our understanding of our target audience and identify product growth opportunities.
  • Collaborate with other members of our growth team to develop, implement and refine our multi-channel growth and paid campaigns and come up with new messaging opportunities that ultimately drive engagement with the product.
  • Optimise ad performance and budgets, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Take ownership over optimisations, insights and reporting on our customer engagement platform.


Who are we looking for?

We're looking for a data-driven, self-motivated growth marketer with a solid background in working with apps. You have a proven track record of leveraging insights to craft innovative, best-in-class growth campaigns across multiple channels and markets to drive product engagement. If you have an analytical mindset and thrive on transforming user data into actionable growth strategies, we’d love to hear from you! 

What do you need to have?

  • Track record: You have 3-5 years of experience in an app Growth or Performance Marketing role.
  • Data-driven: You have a data-driven, analytical and test-and-learn mindset. You're very comfortable delving into all aspects of data, scrutinising results and identifying what works, what doesn't, and identifying new opportunities. You also have experience with setting up A/B tests and other experimentation techniques.
  • Tools: You have experience using performance marketing platforms (particularly on TikTok, Apple, UAC), and experience working with customer engagement platforms.
  • Business acumen: You can step back and see the big picture to understand how things ladder up to wider business goals.
  • User-centric mindset: You're excited to dive into user behaviours and what motivates them to download, engage with, and retain consumer apps.
  • Appreciation for quality: You have excellent attention to detail and have a knack for understanding complex analytics.
  • Growth mindset: You embrace challenges, welcome feedback, adapt and learn quickly, and believe you and others can always grow.
  • Collaboration: You welcome collaboration, work with various stakeholders effectively, and have brilliant communication skills.
  • Management: You can manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and are excellent at reporting on complex data in clear and digestible ways.
  • Grit: You have strong work ethic and problem-solving skills, including the ability to work independently across a range of diverse tasks and troubleshoot unexpected issues on the fly.

What’s nice to have?

  • Experience working on a consumer app, or even better, a social app.
  • Experience with analytical tools, Mixpanel, and/or customer engagement platform, Customer.io.
  • Experience at a start-up
