Content and Community Lead

Focal
Full-time
Remote friendly (London Vauxhall)
United Kingdom, United Kingdom
£40,000 - £45,000 GBP yearly

Focal exists to level up and supercharge the early stage fundraising process.

Focal operates Europe’s largest startup demo day, powered by >250 leading VC funds, and garnering >4,000 startup applications per year. Imagine Dragon's Den on a much bigger scale (in fact, a few of our alumni have made appearances on the show).

We give applicants the opportunity to reach hundreds of leading VCs and angel investors, with one, short pitch. We also give attendees the opportunity to invest in the very best of these startups.

At the start of 2024, we launched Focal Deploy, a revolutionary demo day for GPs to pitch to LPs, which attracted 250 GP applicants and >110 high quality, large ticket LPs.

Our mission is to be the first port of call for all startups and VCs, globally, when fundraising. This is a huge vision and we need world-class talent to execute on it.

The next step on this mission is to leverage the platform we’ve built to raise Europe’s pre-eminent index fund backing early stage startups, partnering with our vast investor network and offering something to founders that no other VC can offer.

📝 What’s the application process?

We’re not fans of process for its own sake. We envisage the process will look something like the following:

  • 1x interview with Issie
  • 1x interview with Hector and Taos
  • 1x basic case study
  • Desired start date: flexible, we want to find the right person

Please note that we’ll also probably do extensive referencing (whilst obviously not alerting your current employer, if applicable). The candidate will also need the right to work in the UK.
